At Broadgreen, we report against the expectations of the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum for Year

7 and Year 8 learners. These descriptors reflect the knowledge and practices students are developing

during their final years of intermediate schooling, including increasing independence, confidence, and

complexity in their thinking and learning.

Because learning progress differs for every child, students within the same descriptor may

demonstrate different strengths, levels of independence, and rates of progress. The descriptors are

intended to provide an overall picture of where students are currently working in relation to curriculum

expectations at this stage of their learning journey.
